At around 8 or 9 AM (I forget which) and again just before 1 PM my connection (ADSL 1500/256) dropped out.- - Como exchange NSW.

Any info?

Hello billb,

Were you able to get online straight after the drop by restarting the modem or was it refusing to connect?

I'm actually on the next exchange (Hurstville) from where you are and didn't particularly notice my own connection go down.

Soory for not replying.

Restart modem and I connect.

Same problem late last night/early this morning and again about 3:00 today - Using Transmission torrent client at time.

It is not unusual to turn on PC in morning ( and modem/router - I dont leave them on 24/7) and not have connection until modem is rebooted.

I do not have a fixed IP ( and dont want one).

You may wish to try and limit the max connections, some modems tend to crash/lock up when you set this too high.

THanks for the reply Albert.

Have been using this modem for years. No problems with this type of drop-out before, even when dloading torrents - not that I dload many.

Only seems to have begun occurring since I changed my plan last Oct - speed still the same 1500/256, but changed from old resi 35gb to new 40/80gb.

I got some problems while downloading some through torrent and I got such kind of problems before, its not I have to change my plan but, got this issue with the plan I am using.

But, now I recovered from this problem and not facing much but, what I know as torrent always create problem while downloading something.

Thanks
